ONLINE wool sales remained consistent on Wooltrade last week as the physical market started its three-week winter recess.
Wooltrade sold 325 bales throughout the week, with the top price of 1215c/kg greasy, or 1609c/kg clean, being paid for a five-bale line of 17.8 micron Merino fleece. The lot was offered by Australian Wool Network and branded Grange/K. It yielded 75.5 percent, with an average staple length of 85mm, a tensile strength of 48 Newtons/kilotex and 0.8pc vegetable matter content.
A six-bale line of 18.8 micron fleece sold for 1135c/kg greasy, or 1499c/kg clean. The line yielded 75.7pc, was 89mm long, with a tensile strength of 40N/kt and 1.6pc vm.
A nine-bale line of 19.2 micron wool, with a yield of 74.7pc, length of 91mm, tensile strength of 41N/kt and 0.6pc vm made 1120c/kg greasy, or 1499c/kg clean.
Nine bales of 20.1 micron fleece sold for 1000c/kg greays, or 1477c/kg clean. It yielded 67.7pc, with an average staple length of 110mm, a tensile strength of 43N/kt and 1.9pc vm.
A four-bale line of 21.3 micron wool with a yield of 71.8pc, a mean staple length of 106mm, tensile strength of 47N/kt and 0.6pc vm sold for1060c/kg greasy6, or 1476c/kg clean.
A 14-bale line of 22.9 micron Merino fleece made 735c/kg greasy, or 1191c/kg clean. It yielded 61.7pc, was 56mm long, with a tensile strength of 66N/kt and 0.9pc vm.
Four bales of 23.2 micron crossbred wool sold for 862c/kg greasy, or 1107c/kg clean. The line yielded 77.9pc and had 0.3pc vm. Twelve bales of 24.6 micron Merino fleece with a yield of 56.6pc, an average staple length of 81mm, tensile strength of 56N/kt and 6.4pc vm sold for 705c/kg greasy, or 1246c/kg clean.
Skirtings sold to 1374c/kg clean, or 900c/kg greasy, for a three-bale line of 16.3 micron wool that yielded 65.5pc, with a staple length of 77mm, tensile strength of 24N/kt and 1.4pc vm.
The top-priced carding line was three bales of 17.1 micron Merino crutchings that made 690c/kg greasy, or 1198c/kg clean. The line was branded Stonehouse and yielded 57.6pc with 0.3pc vm.
