Wool sales continue online during Easter auction recess

WOOL sales continued online on the AuctionsPlus platform last week, despite the one-week Easter recess for physical auctions.

The AuctionsPlus offer board traded 132 bales, with buyers focussing mainly on fine Merino wools.

There were 91 bales of 17 micron wool sold online this week to a top of 1440c/kg greasy or 2,090c/kg clean. The 18 micron fleece wool sold online made to a top of 933c/kg greasy or 1422c/kg clean.

The top-priced lot online was 11 bales of 17.5 micron Merino AAASUP fleece that sold for 1440c/kg greasy or 1941c/kg clean. This lot had 0.2 percent vegetable matter content, was 94mm in staple length, and was offered by the Australian Wool Network under the “The Mountain Dam” brand.

The Australian Wool Exchange is indicating their will be a large offering of bales when physical wool auctions resume this week. More than 54,000 bales are expected to be listed, more than 28,000 of which will be offered at the southern selling centre in Melbourne.
