Wool on The Rocks as IWTO Congress heads to Sydney

IWTO Congress 2016WOOL industry stakeholders have only one more day to register for the early bird discount for International Wool Testing Organisation Congress to be held in Sydney next April.

Wool growers and brokers will mix with industry leaders, spinners, weavers, garment manufacturers, designers and retailers at the congress from April 4-6 at the Four Seasons Hotel in the city’s historic The Rocks precinct.

The congress is regarded as a major international event for the global wool industry and will be co-hosted by the Federation of Australian Wool Organisations. It brings together speakers and delegates from all parts of the wool pipeline. Its theme is ‘Wool for Future Generations’, with a focus on innovation, new technologies, creativity and economic sustainability.

The congress program will include sessions on market intelligence, outlook and trends on the first day. On the second day, speakers will focus on education, extension and adoption; wool technology and economic sustainability.

The third day will focus on strategic market insights and retail. A feature of the congress will be the running of the Sydney wool auction in the hotel on the second and third day.

A comprehensive social programme includes a Presidential Reception at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney Harbour gala dinner cruise and the option of a post-Congress farm tour. Explore the draft program here.
