EX-TROPICAL cyclone Gabrielle transitioned to an extratropical system after moving over Norfolk Island and severe tropical cyclone Freddy continued tracking south-west of Christmas Island with no threat to Western Australia.
Weekly totals greater than 100 mm were recorded over parts of northern Australia with some pockets of more than 200 mm in northern Queensland and the Top End.
The highest weekly total at a Bureau of Meteorology gauge was 427.0 mm in Whyanbeel Valley (Qld), which included 295.0 mm in the 24 hours to 9am on 10 February.
Major flood warning for Darling River (NSW) and Cooper Creek (Qld). Moderate and minor flooding continued in other catchments in Queensland and New South Wales.
