STOCK watering place leases are being offered in New South Wales’ western division for the first time in several years.

The SWPs having been leased out since the late 1800s, but Western Local Land Services Officer, Kerryn Hart said this was the first SWP lease tender that had been offered for several years.

“SWP leases were unable to be put to tender because of constraints with the travelling stock reserve or TSR Review.

“The TSR Review has been published and the TSR Plan of Management is near finalisation, so we are now able to run the SWP lease tenders,” Ms Hart said.

Western Local Land Services is inviting stakeholders to tender for Stock Watering Place (SWP) leases in the Western Local Land Services region. Leases will be for a four and a quarter year term, from 1 July 2019 to 30 September 2023.

Tenders will be open for a month from Monday, 27 May with applications closing at 4:30 pm Friday, 21 June 2019 and will only be accepted for the permitted uses of watering and grazing livestock or conservation.

SWPs are only in the Western Division and SWPs landlocked within properties will be initially offered to the surrounding property landholder to tender to mitigate biosecurity and community conflict risks, LLS said.

If the surrounding property landholder does not wish to tender they will be opened for competitive tender.

Tender applications must be submitted on the approved tender form, which is included in the SWP lease tender pack, along with a list of SWPs available for lease and more information on lease terms and conditions.

From 27 May, this pack can be downloaded from the Western Local Land Services website or picked up from Western Local Land Services offices.

Further information on SWP lease tenders will be available from 27 May at www.lls.nsw.gov.au/western or landholders can contact Ms Hart on (03) 5021 9401
