SHEEP Producers Australia president Allan Piggott will stand for re-election this year for a further three-year term.
However, the peak sheep producers body has also issued a last-minute reminder to other prospective board director candidates.
SPA chief executive officer Graham Smith said Mr Piggott and fellow director Ian McColl are retiring from the board, but both are eligible to stand for re-election. Mr McColl has told Sheep Central he will also stand for re-election.
Mr Smith said the organisation is seeking candidates who are passionate about the success of SPA and the Australian sheep industry and who are looking for further professional development experiences.
“In addition, candidates must outline their capacity as a strategic thinker and highlight how they can challenge and suggest alternatives in a collaborative manner,” he said.
Applications for two member-based director positions on the peak sheep producers’ body’s board close this Friday 26 October.
