MERINO wool valued at about $100,000 has been stolen from a property at Tintinara in south eastern South Australia.

Murray Bridge Police are investigating the recent theft of 48 bales of wool branded AAAM from the property sometime between Friday 22 June and Monday 2 July.

Police said thieves have stolen the wool from a shed on the property at Homestead Road, which runs south east out of the town.

Each bale weighs 190kg and is stamped with “DF & JK Head” brand No. 701246 AAAM (wool class) Landmark in black ink. Thieves would have required a truck to remove the bales which are valued at around $100,000, police said.

Anyone who has any information about this theft or who may have been approached to buy wool outside of normal practices, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au Calls to Crimestoppers can be anonymous.
