AUCTIONSPLUS sold nearly 2000 bales of wool on its online offer board last week, as demand strengthened, especially for fine Merino wool.
As the AWEX eastern market Indicator rose 30 cents to 1202c/kg clean, AuctionsPlus sold 1977 bales of wool, including 364 bales of 17 micron wool for up to 1620c/kg greasy or 2025c/kg clean.
The top price online was dry 1965c/kg greasy or 2703c/kg clean for 15 micron branded SG&AEB and offered by Beecher Wool Services. The 15 micron Merino Fleece AAAMWNS lot had an average staple length of 104mm and 0.3percent vegetable matter content.
AuctionsPlus said the renewed confidence seen prior to the Christmas break was sustained as increased market demand and buyer competition strengthened the market.
Solid buyer demand trended across all the physical auction markets with the AWEX Southern Market Indicator experiencing the largest increase, up 33 cents to close at 1167c/kg clean.
