MEAT and offal-loving celebrity chef Adrian Richardson has been enlisted to liven up the first joint BestWool/BestLamb and BetterBeef conference dinner in Bendigo next month.
Famed for his statements deriding “tofu-munching food extremists” and the “vegan Hezbollah”, the self-declared cooker of anything with a pulse is well-known his role as co-host of Ten’s Good Chef Bad Chef, Boys Weekend and Foxtel’s Secret Meat Business.
He owns a North Carlton restaurant, La Luna Bistro, and the Bouvier Bar in Brunswick East, and is known for working closely with the farmers he buys from to ensure an understanding of the provenance of the meat his restaurants serve. He has also written two books, Meat and The Good Life.
BWBL program co-ordinator Cathy Mulligan said Mr Richardson is sending a sous chef to help prepare the three-course joint conference dinner on Tuesday June 26.
“So what we eat will be designed by Adrian Richardson.”
He will also be the guest speaker at the dinner to be held at the historic Ulumbarra Theatre, with pre-dinner drinks from 6.30pm and dinner at 7pm.
