SHEEP producers considering moving to a non-mulesed flock will have the opportunity to attend field days across northern Victoria over the next two weeks.

The Victorian-based “Towards NM sheep” groups are hosting two field days on “Transitioning to Non-Mulesed sheep” on 6 October at Mt Dryden, and 11 October at Mansfield.

Project leader Lisa Warn said the field days are part of a Producer Demonstration Site project funded by Meat & Livestock Australia.

Topics to be discussed and demonstrated include:

 Producer experiences managing non-mulesed sheep

 Breeding flystrike resistant sheep

 Managing worms and dag

 Tools to help you develop your plan to move to and maintain your flock as NM

 Breech wrinkle scoring demonstration

 MLA PDS results

 Inspection of sheep – 3 different tail docking methods compared.
