MEAT Business Women Australia has revealed the finalists in the 2024 One to Watch Award, that aims to amplify the presence and impact of young women in the Australian meat industry.
MBWA received more 20 applications vying for the award and its $5000 prize from throughout the meat industry.
The finalists include:
Jessica Schoonderwaldt, implementation manager, Foods Connected Pty Ltd
Mia Young, junior farm hand, Thomas Foods International
Cintia Amaral, research intern, Craig Mostyn Group
Sarah Duffield, genetic improvement officer, Stockyard Lot Feeders Pty Ltd
Sascha Hann, production manager for red meat, retail ready operations – Coles
The finalists will receive complimentary tickets to The Power of You conference on 20 March, 2024, at Hyatt Place Melbourne, Essendon Fields, where the award winner will be announced.
April Warman, Marel regional managing and service director April Warman, helped judge the award and said the diversity and calibre of this year’s finalists was truly inspiring.
“Their dedication and innovative approaches are exactly what the meat industry needs to foster a bright and inclusive future,” she said.
Australian chair of Meat Business Women Stacey McKenna said MBWA is incredibly proud of the achievements and potential of the finalists.
“This award not only celebrates their success but also highlights the critical role of women in driving forward the meat industry.
“I look forward to seeing how their careers develop and how they will contribute to our industry,” she said.
