LIVESTOCK SA has opened nominations for its new Livestock Advisory Committee until 17 February this year.
The peak South Australian farmer body said the establishment of the new committee is one of the structural reforms supported by members last year to realise a properly governed, more transparent and accountable organisation.
Livestock SA chair Gillian Fennell said the new skills-based committee will play a key role in advising the board on industry matters and ensuring the continued success of South Australia’s livestock industry.
“The committee will provide insights on livestock industry issues and make recommendations on the allocation of the cattle and sheep industry funds,” she said.
Ms Fennell said the committee will also monitor the SA Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030, assess funded project outcomes, and recommend policy and program responses to industry challenges and opportunities.
“This committee is excellent opportunity for producers and industry professionals who want to make a difference and support South Australia’s red meat and wool industries.”
Applications must be received in the Livestock SA office by 9am (ACDT) Monday 17 February 2025.
Applications will be assessed by a selection panel, with the first meeting of the new committee currently scheduled for 23 April 2025.
Further details, including the committee’s Terms of Reference and Nomination Form, are available on the Livestock SA website here.
