WOOL and sheepmeat producers can contribute to the latest sheep industry projections through the wool and sheepmeat survey for October 2015.

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) run the joint survey in February, June and October each year, with the results forming the basis of MLA’s Sheep Industry Projections. The survey is now open and MLA said the more producers who respond, the more reliable the projections’ estimates will be.

MLA said the results assist producers and industry to make informed business decisions based on data and evidence. The ongoing monitoring of production and producer intentions is vital to generate better forward looking information for the sheep industry.

MLA and AWI responses are aggregated with those from other participants to create regional, state and national wool and sheepmeat industry data. Individual responses remain strictly confidential. Responses are to be returned by October 31, 2015 and any received by this date will be entered into the draw* for the chance to win a Caltex StarCash card worth $1000.
