AUSTRALIA’S sheep meat and wool producers have about three weeks to complete the latest industry flock owner production and intention survey.

The Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) wool and sheep meat survey is open until February 28, 2018.

The two bodies said continuing productivity improvements in the Australian wool and sheep meat industry highlight the importance of monitoring production and producer intentions, assisting producers to make more efficient decisions based on data and evidence. The results from this survey continue to accurately represent production trends since 2010 and provide a strong foundation for MLA’s and AWI’s industry forecasting and market information analysis, they said.

MLA and AWI said the more producers who responded through the survey, the more reliable the data would be.

Producers’ responses will be aggregated with the replies from other participants to create regional, state and national wool and sheep meat industry data. Individual responses remain strictly confidential.
