AUSTRALIAN Lamb Company buyer Angus Lloyd will give a market update at lamb feeding information session at Dunkeld in south-west Victoria next month.

The “Feeding lambs – does it pay in 2023?” information and discussion day at the Dunkeld Recreation Reserve on Thursday 2 November will be aimed at helping local sheep producers work through their options for this year.

Mr Lloyd will give a lamb market update and Australian Probiotic Solutions nutritionist and former grain trader Tim Huggins said he will talk about how producers can use the feeds they’ve got on hand and then select the best purchased feed options to return the biggest margin.

“We believe there is still money to be made this year, particularly if buying store lambs at current prices.

“It is going to be about good planning and crunching numbers but there is help available to do that,” he said.

The information day will run from 11am-1pm in Glenthompson-Dunkeld Football-Netball Club’s rooms at the Dunkeld Rec Reserve. A barbecue lunch will provided.

Interested people are asked to RSVP by 30/10/23 to Tim Huggins on 0429 820 497.
