YOUNG people in the sheep industry are being encouraged to take up an offer to attend Lambex 2024 free of charge as part of the FutureFlock Program.

The FutureFlock Program is an initiative of Neogen in partnership with LambEx 2024 to provide thirty people under the age of 35 an opportunity to take part in Australia’s largest sheep industry event as special guests.

Successful applicants will receive an all-inclusive ticket to the full conference including all social functions valued at more than $900. The initiative is open to anyone in the industry that meets the terms and conditions – not only producers.

Lambex 2024 chairman Jason Schultz said the program is a fantastic initiative and he encouraged any young people in the industry to take it up.

“The Lambex committee is putting a strong effort into getting the age demographic of the conference down, Neogen’s is one of these initiatives.

“We are also opening the doors to school age students for free before the delegates get there,” he said.

“We are having a bit of a go, that’s for sure.”

Neogen said successful applicants will not only will you get to experience the pinnacle event for Australian sheep, lamb and wool, they will get to do it with like-minded, innovative young people from all over Australia.

Neogen’s Australasian genomic sales manager Hannah Bourke said the company believes strongly in using science and technology to produce better outcomes in agriculture and is looking for the next generation of sheep farmers who embrace science and want to see their industry thrive.

Applicants must submit either a two-minute video or a 500-word written application outlining how technology could improve their sheep business and what role genomic testing will play.

In order to upload an application, applicants will first need to log into their Google account. If they don’t already have a Google account they can set one up for free.
