LAMB prices were lower for all but the crossbreds on AuctionsPlus last week and purchases rose in all states, especially in New South Wales following recent rain.
AuctionsPlus said the online sheep and lamb market experienced some fluctuation, with clearance rates rising three percent to average 71 percent, and value over reserve falling by $1 to average $8/head.
The average price for crossbred lambs rose 4pc to $124/head, while the restocker lamb indicator continued to climb, averaging 700c/kg dressed.
New South Wales was the highest listing and purchasing state last week. NSW producers offered 7000 head, more than half the number offered the previous week.
The second largest listing state was Victoria, with 20,490 head offered. South Australia and Queensland listings also rose. South Australia buyers bought 12,411 head.
At Goornong in Victoria, 275 2.5 year-old first cross ewes weighing 67kg sold for $306, or 456c/kg lwt to a buyer in St Arnaud, Victoria.
At Narromine in NSW, 240 April 2024 first cross ewe lambs weighing 46kg lwt made $255/head, or 560c/kg, with a buyer in Warren, NSW.
At Lake Wongan in Victoria, 83 two year-old White Suffolk ewes weighing 75kg sold for $301, or 401c/kg lwt, to a buyer in Invergordon, Victoria.
