AGRIBUSINESS AWN has appointed of agricultural consultant Su McCluskey as a non-executive director, commencing 1 November.
AWN chairman John Maher said that Ms McCluskey’s appointment followed an extensive and highly competitive selection process.
“I am extremely pleased to welcome Su to the board of AWN.
“Su’s wide experience in governance, finance, and agriculture in a non-executive director and senior executive capacity is a valuable addition to the AWN board as we continue to expand our operations,” he said.
Ms McCluskey is currently a director of ASX-listed Australian Unity, LiveCorp, Australasian Pork Research Institute, and a Commissioner for International Agricultural Research. She is also the special representative for Australian Agriculture for the Australian Government.
Ms McCluskey said she is delighted to be joining the board of AWN during a time of incredible opportunity for Australian agriculture.
“I look forward to applying my experience and expertise to Australia’s third largest wool, livestock, and property rural agency business and contributing to the next chapter of AWN’s growth.”
Ms McCluskey has also held numerous high-profile senior and executive positions, including roles with the Regional Australia Institute, Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations, Office of Best Practice Regulation, Business Council of Australia, National Farmers’ Federation, and the Australian Taxation Office. She is also a beef cattle producer in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.
Ms McCluskey was on the National COVID-19 Advisory Board, a member of the Charities Review, and the Small Business Digital Taskforce, and a member of the Independent Review Panel for CPA Australia, the Harper Review of Competition Policy, and the NSW Review of the Regulatory Framework.
She was named the 2013 Westpac and Australian Financial Review Regional Woman of Influence and received the Women in Agribusiness award in 2014 for outstanding contribution to policy development.
Ms McCluskey holds a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Canberra) and is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA). She is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
