Weekly rainfall update + rainfall outlook 30 June 2025

A PRE-FRONTAL trough, several cold fronts and low pressure systems brought rainfall to southern and south-eastern Australia during the week, resulting in moderate falls and isolated heavy falls.

Weekly rainfall totals between 10 to 50 mm were recorded in areas of southern Western Australia, southern parts of South Australia, much of Victoria, southern, inland and eastern parts of New South Wales and much of Tasmania.

Weekly rainfall totals of 50 to 100 mm were recorded in western and north-eastern Tasmania and alpine areas of Victoria and New South Wales.

An upper-level trough developed over northern and eastern parts of Queensland triggering a band of rainfall on 27 to 29 June.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10 to 25 mm were recorded in eastern, central and northern parts of Queensland, with falls between 25 to 50 mm within these areas.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau of Meteorology gauge was 176 mm at Falls Creek (Rocky Valley) in Victoria, and the highest daily total at a bureau gauge was 91 mm at Mount Hotham in Victoria in the 24 hours to 9 am on 24 June.
