Wool metrologist Victoria Fish has joined the leadership program

The National Farmers’ Federation’s (NFF) Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program has today welcomed twelve women to its ranks from across Australia.

The mentoring and networking program is the NFF’s flagship initiative to address the under representation of women in agriculture’s leadership ranks.

NFF president David Jochinke said it was a very competitive selection process for the 2025 cohort.

“These twelve women are the cream of the crop, and we congratulate them for taking the time and effort to further their leadership skills through this program,” he said.

“The NFF has set a goal to double the number of women in agriculture’s leadership ranks by 2030.

“This program boasts dozens of alumni and is now in its eighth year, a testament to the desire for diversity in ag’s leadership spaces,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing these talented professionals thrive in this year’s program.”

The 2025 Diversity in Agriculture Leadership cohort includes Karen Penfold, QLD; Nada Sukkarieh, NSW; Courtney Bailey, QLD; Malinda Newton, NSW; Vivienne McCollum, QLD; Bronwyn Venus, QLD; Anna Cochrane, NT; Victoria Fish, VIC; Mary Johnson, NSW; Georgia Campbell, NSW; Allison Dakin, WA, and; Mon Saunders, SA. The NFF said the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership program is made possible by the generosity of 30 dedicated industry partners.

The cohort will take part in a three-day leadership retreat in Canberra, be matched with an industry-leading mentor, and work towards personal and professional goals under the guidance of the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership team.

Past participants have praised the program for expanding their leadership horizons.

2024 graduate Ming Fung Chua said the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program has empowered her to break free from self-imposed limitations, embrace her potential, and build lasting bonds with incredible women who have supported her journey toward personal and professional growth.

2024 graduate Wendy Hick said her understanding of leadership in agriculture has expanded tremendously through the program, revealing its various forms and the diverse areas in which leaders emerge.
