A SERIES of cold fronts and low pressure systems brought widespread showers to southern areas of the country this week, particularly across western and southern parts of Western Australia.
Weekly rainfall totals of 10 to 50 mm were recorded across western and southern Western Australia, much of Tasmania and areas of southern and eastern Victoria.
Weekly rainfall totals between 50 to 100 mm were recorded along parts of the west coast of Western Australia and Tasmania’s north-west, with isolated totals greater than 100 mm in the South West district of Western Australia.
A cloud band brought rainfall across northern and central parts of Queensland early in the week on 16 and 17 June.
Weekly rainfall totals of 10 to 50 mm were recorded across northern and central areas of Queensland, with falls between 25 to 50 mm in parts of the north-east and falls greater than 50 mm in the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district.
The highest weekly total at a Bureau of Meteorology gauge was 150.2 mm at Aston Downs Alert in Western Australia, and the highest daily total at a bureau gauge was 85.6 mm at Jindong in Western Australia in the 24 hours to 9am on 18 June.
