AUSTRALIA’S wool producers, brokers and exporters will be able to watch the first in a series of live online test wool auctions at 11am and 4pm today.
AuctionsPlus Wool project manager Tom Rookyard said the series of test auctions over the next week will lead up to a live online sale where wool will be transacted on 16 April.
“We’ve complete all of our IT requirements and we are going to go live and have test auctions starting tomorrow (today),” Mr Rookyard said.
Mr Rookyard said brokers who have listed wool for the actual 16 April online auction — during Week 42 of the sale series – include Elders, Landmark and Jemalong Wools, and several others are also keen to participate. Brokers are being limited to a 10-lot maximum for the first sale.
First test sale from 11am
Mr Rookyard said the first test sales at 11am and 4pm today 9 April, will auction 25 lots.
AuctionsPlus Wool has put together a manual for wool buyers and brokers, along with a demonstration video which can are attached, or CLICK HERE to view the video.
The test auctions are being conducted to allow buyers to get accustomed to the AuctionsPlus platform. Wool will not be transacted, and as a result there will be no samples or EDI catalogue available.
Testing with wool brokers has been completed and wool broker instructions on how to list when live sales commence are also attached.
