SHEEP and their stomachs will feature in the Lambex 2026 tech talks in Adelaide next week.
Tech Talks take over the Trade Hall stages in the Adelaide Convention Centre from 2-5pm on Tuesday 7th July at LambEx26.
Drench resistance update
Virbac technical product manager Timothy Elliot will provide a comprehensive update on the latest drench resistance results.
His presentation will include findings from recent faecal egg count reduction tests that highlight significant resistance in pathogenic species such as Barbers Pole worm and Small Brown stomach worm.
If you are keen to learn more, hear Timothy’s tech talk at 3pm on the Paddock Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall.
Forage crops and worms
At LambEx26, veterinarian Dr Charlotte Westwood will discuss the role forage crops play in managing internal parasites in young sheep.
This will include how lambs grazing forage crops may require fewer drenches than pasture fed lambs, driven by improved nutrition from high quality crops &/or the ability of these crops to interrupt the parasite lifecycle.
Charlotte is a qualified Veterinarian (BVSc, MANZCVS, PhD) with over 30 years of experience in Vet Science, animal nutrition & farm systems.
In her current role as veterinary nutritionist for PGG Wrightson Seeds NZ & DLF Seeds Australia, she consults widely to a number of large corporate farming businesses and is involved in R&D & extension work with retail customers and farmers.
You can join this Tech Talk at 3pm on the Pasture Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall
Nutritional strategies for performance
Alltech Lienert nutritionist Matthew Grycewicz explore practical nutritional strategies to optimise livestock performance across varying production systems in his Tech Talk at LambEx26.
The session will draw on expertise in feed formulation, mineral balance and gut health to focus on improving productivity, feed efficiency and resilience in challenging conditions.
Attendees will gain insight into targeted supplementation, stress management and emerging approaches such as methane reduction and antibiotic-free solutions.
Lambex said Alltech Lienert’s approach is backed by strong scientific research and on-farm application to deliver measurable results through tailored nutrition programs designed to support both animal performance and long-term farm profitability.
If you would like to learn more, head to the Paddock Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall at 2.30pm.
Sheep probiotics?
Terragen chief operating officer Dr Joss West will outline the science behind direct-fed microbials in sheep and what it means on farm.
Here presentation will cover rumen function and feed efficiency to animal health during high-pressure periods such as weaning, diet changes and seasonal stress.
She will look at where research is building, why results can vary, and what producers should consider before use, including strain selection, dose, viability and delivery.
Lambex said the aim of her presentation is to bridge research and reality, and support clearer decisions around probiotics in modern sheep production systems.
Hear from Joss at 3.30pm on the Paddock Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall.
Precision feeding with C-Lock
C-Lock’s Tech Talk will explore how precision feeding systems and metabolic data are unlocking a new level of insight into livestock performance.
Christiaan Le Roux will break down the technologies capturing traits we’ve never been able to measure at scale, and what that means for selection, efficiency and profitability.
This session will highlight how tools like GreenFeed and their SmartLine of products enable accurate measurement of feed intake, body weight, water consumption and emissions, supporting more informed decision-making.
Lambex said C-Lock’s approach is designed for producers, researchers and advisors to offers a practical pathway to improving productivity, sustainability and long-term operational performance.
Christiaan will present on the Pasture Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall at 2.30pm.
Closing the efficiency gap
ProAgni chief technology officer Rob Bell will take to the tech talk stage to explore how precision nutrition and trial-proven feed technologies can help lamb producers close the efficiency gap.
Lambex said he will outline practical ways to improve feed conversion, accelerate growth rates, and lift profitability in modern lamb production systems.
Hear from Rob at 4pm on the Paddock Stage in the LambEx26 Trade Hall.
