BOM weekly rainfall update 14 April 2026 + outlook map

A SERIES of troughs and cold fronts moved across southern Australia during the week and brought light to moderate rainfall totals.

Weekly rainfall totals of 5-50mm were recorded across parts of Western Australia, southern areas of South Australia, much of Victoria, south-eastern New South Wales and Tasmania, with falls greater than 100mm in some elevated areas of the south-eastern mainland and western Tasmania.

During the week, isolated showers and thunderstorms affected parts of the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded across northern and western areas of the Top End, with falls greater than 50mm recorded in isolated areas.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau of Meteorology gauge was 162mm at Mount Read in Tas.

The highest daily total at a bureau gauge was 91mm at Falls Creek in Vic in the 24 hours to 9am on 9 April.
