Past seven days: At the start of the week, a westerly air stream produced showers in western Tasmania and small parts of southern and north-east Victoria.
In the middle of the week, a cold front embedded in a westerly stream tracked over Tasmania. The system produced moderate falls in western Tasmania and parts of north-east Victoria, and widespread light falls over eastern Tasmania and much the southern half of Victoria.
In the last part of the week, another cold front swept through south-east Australia, generating moderate falls in western Tasmania, and light falls in south-eastern South Australia and southern Victoria. A moist onshore flow produced showers and moderate falls along the north-east tropical coast of Queensland
In the west, a strong cold front moved across the south-west of Western Australia, producing moderate falls in the state’s far south-west.
Rainfall totals in excess of 50 mm were recorded in parts of western Tasmania, including the highest weekly total of 105 mm at Mount Read.
Rainfall totals between 10 mm and 50 mm were recorded in far south-west Western Australia, central to north-east Victoria, the western half of Tasmania, and the north-east tropical coast of Queensland.
