Weekly rainfall update + rain outlook 12 April 2023

WIDESPREAD showers and storms along the east coast and in Victoria resulted in weekly totals of 25 to 50 mm, with locally higher falls in western Tasmania and the New South Wales mid-north coast.

Higher weekly totals of 50 to 200 mm were recorded from isolated thunderstorms along the northern tropical coast in the Kimberley, Northern Territory Top End and the tip of the Cape York Peninsula.

Troughs across Western Australia brought 10 to 50 mm to parts of the interior and the South West Land Division, with isolated weekly totals over 50 mm.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge was 237.0 mm at Croker Island Airport (Northern Territory).

The highest daily total at a Bureau gauge was 167.8 mm at Erriba (Tasmania) to in the 24 hours to 9am 7 April.
