FOUNDER of Dubbo-based Fletcher International Exports and one of Australia’s largest wool producers Roger Fletcher will open the Sheepvention Rural Expo on Sunday 6 August at 12.30pm.
Fletcher International’s production is focused on sheep meat, wool tops and various by-products, that are exported to more than 95 countries. The business has processing plants in Dubbo in New South Wales, and Albany, Western Australia, and its more than 13000 employees process up to 90,000 sheep per week.
Mr Fletcher has served on the boards of The Australian Meat Processor Corporation, Australian Wool Innovation and the Australian Meat Industry Council, and several other industry organisations. In 2019, he was announced as a recipient of a medal in the Order of Australia, due to his success in business and positive contribution to the rural community.
Roger said he hasn’t visited the Western District for a number of years and is eager to return and connect with industry stakeholders. Patrons to Sheepvention can attend the official opening in the ram shed.
