NOMINATIONS have opened for Australia’s national wool broker award after a Covid-enforced recess.
National Council of Wool Brokers of Australia executive director Robert Herrmann said the NCWSBA Wool Broker of the Year award will be held this year as part of the annual Wool Week program in Melbourne.
He said the award is an excellent opportunity for young brokers to share their skills and knowledge with the aim to become leaders in the wool industry.
This year’s award is again sponsored by AWTA — as the industry sponsor — and Sheep Central — as the media sponsor.
Mr Herrmann said the award recognises excellence in wool broking by a younger member of the industry – be it client servicing, auctioneering, innovation or other aspects of wool broking.
“This year’s award winner will be granted an all-expenses paid trip to France to attend the 2025 IWTO Congress,” he said.
The finalists for the 2024 award will be profiled on Sheep Central online news website in the lead up to Wool Week and the NCWSBA annual general meeting on 18 July 2024. Finalists will give a presentation in support of their applications at the NCWSBA AGM.
This year’s Award winner will be announced at the Wool Week dinner on 18 July scheduled to be held at the RACV Club level 17 dining room in Melbourne.
Nominations are open for the 2024 NCWSBA Wool Broker Award. Closing date for nominations is Friday, 7 June. Go to https://www.woolbrokers.org/member-brokers/wool-broker-award to download the information on nomination and the application form.
