AWI chair Garnsey to speak at superfine wool growers’ dinner

AUSTRALIAN Wool Innovation chair Colette Garnsey will be the keynote speaker at the annual superfine wool growers’ association dinner and farm tour next month.

The Australian Superfine Woolgrowers Association said Ms Garnsey will speak at the presentation dinner for the annual fleece competition awards on 26 June at Ararat, after a tour of two district grower properties.

Former ASWGA president Kevin Dunn will give outline the history of the association at the presentation dinner, to be held at the Ararat Town Hall, the venue for the association’s first regional meeting.

The farm tours on Saturday 26 June will visit the Fenton family’s Kooringa Farming operation and the ‘Currawong’ property owned by Heather and Geoff Phillips. On Sunday 27 June, the farm tour will continue at Jess and Duncan Barber’s ‘ Coliban Park’ property, the Beverley Merino Stud owned by John and Mac Barty and Avington Merino, owned by Lyndsay and Noel Henderson.

The association’s 9th annual dinner and farm tour, including presentations of the 2020/21 ASWGA Fleece competition winners, will also celebrate ASWGA’s 50th anniversary.
