MLA Red Meat Industry Forum and AGM coming to South Australia

Sheep Central, October 24, 2016

mla logoEMERGING red meat trends set to affect Australian sheep and beef producers in the next 18 months will be outlined at the 2016 Red Meat Industry Forum at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills next month.

The international outlook for Australian red meat will be a focus of the upcoming 2016 Red Meat Industry Forum, being held with MLA’s Annual General Meeting on November 10.

Among the key speakers at the forum will be MLA’s General Manager International Markets, Michael Finucan, who will provide key insights about current international market trends and how Australian red meat is positioned in the global marketplace.

Mr Finucan is based in Beijing and oversees MLA’s international global marketing activities and international offices.

The Australian red meat industry operates in a global marketplace, therefore trends in key overseas markets will impact on the domestic market. Some of the emerging trends that will impact domestically over the next 18 months will also be on the agenda.

Also joining Mr Finucan at the forum and AGM will be MLA’s Europe and Russia International Business Manager, Josh Anderson, who is based in Brussels. Mr Anderson will provide producers with key insights into the impact of the ‘Brexit’ vote on the Australian red meat industry, as well as progress on proposed EU and UK Free Trade agreements.
