Live exporters to discuss reform agenda at LIVEXchange 2017

Sheep Central, May 4, 2017

THE live export industry’s reform agenda will feature at the LIVEXchange 2017 conference in Western Australia this year.

The conference at the Crown Towers in Perth on November 15-16 will be hosted by the Western Australian Livestock Export Association, with the Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council and LiveCorp.

ALEC said the conference theme is ‘Taking Stock: Adaptability, Sustainability, Accountability’ will allow exporters to consider the progress of the industry’s ongoing reform agenda, while posing questions about the live trade’s future success and the nature of its relationship with the community.

LIVEXchange 2017’s agenda will also reflect WA’s standing as a gateway to key markets in South East Asia and the Middle East.

WALEA chairman David Jarvie said WA-based exporters were proud to be hosting the event.

“LIVEXchange provides a unique opportunity for industry stakeholders to discuss key opportunities and challenges confronting the livestock export trade, including continual improvement of supply chain capabilities, market opportunities and animal welfare outcomes.

“As an industry, we are always very much focused on having two-way conversations with stakeholders and the general public,” Dr Jarvie said.

“With this in mind, LIVEXchange 2017 will again feature plenty of open and frank discussion, with a number of panel sessions planned.

“Given the prominence of WA’s sheep and cattle trade in the national livestock export industry, Perth is a fitting location for this year’s event,” he said.

“LIVEXchange 2017 will showcase the latest in industry and market developments, as well as drawing high profile guest presenters and trade representatives from across global livestock export and red meat supply chains.”

ALEC said LIVEXchange 2017 will coincide with a busy week for exporters, with key industry meetings to precede the conference and the industry’s annual gala dinner and charity auction wrapping up the week.

Registrations for LIVEXchange 2017 have now opened, with a special ‘early bird’ rate available for a limited time. To register or for further details, visit: https://livexchangeconference.com.au/
